Mantra Flags

These flags have the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum printed in Tibetan. Om Mani Padme hum is the six syllabled Sanskrit Mantra for compassion and is associated with the buddha Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion.

Om Mani Padme Hum is considered the 6 true words, or the most common mantra in Tibetan Buddhism. A mantra or prayer in traditional Buddhism is spoken aloud or within the mind to help gather "emptiness" or a sense of nothingness. This means that we put away our ego and focus on our inner awareness. This practice is incredibly tough and requires years of training, but this mantra is believed to contain all of Buddha's teachings and knowing this mantra is being on the path to enlightenment.
